Ambassador Dimechkie took part in a meeting of the Palestinian Emergency Committee

The Chairman of the Lebanese–Palestinian Dialogue Committee, Ambassador Ramez Dimechkie , participated in a meeting of the Palestinian Emergency Committee in Lebanon, chaired by the Palestinian Ambassador Mohammad Al-Asaad, and attended by the Director of UNRWA Affairs in Lebanon, Dorothy Klaus.

Ambassador Dimashkieh was briefed on ways to address potential problems that may arise in the event of any emergency.

The meeting discussed mechanisms to enhance coordination of efforts aimed at supporting Palestinian refugees in Lebanon, through cooperation between UNRWA, the Lebanese–Palestinian Dialogue Committee, international organizations, and civil society organizations working within the Palestinian community.

Ambassador Al-Asaad also informed the participants about the outcomes of his meetings and contacts with the relevant authorities in order to secure the essential needs of the refugees.

, Klaus presented a detailed overview of UNRWA’s response plans in the event of displacement outside the camps, noting that three main centers have been prepared to receive displaced persons and provide them with basic necessities.

The meeting concluded with an emphasis on maintaining coordination and joint communication to follow up on any emergencies, particularly in Palestinian camps and gatherings in Lebanon.
