LPDC’s Chairman met the Acting Commissioner-General of UNRWA

The Chairman of the Lebanese–Palestinian Dialogue Committee, Ambassador Ramez Dimeshkie, met with the Acting Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), Christian Saunders, and the Agency’s Director in Lebanon, Dorothy Klaus.
During the meeting, they discussed recent emergency updates related to the Palestinian displacement and ways to strengthen the joint response in light of growing challenges. They also reviewed governance projects being undertaken by the Committee in close cooperation with UNRWA, reaffirming the Agency’s role as a key partner in supporting national efforts to ensure more effective and sustainable approaches to managing this issue.
The discussion also addressed the reconstruction of the Nahr al-Bared camp, where both sides reviewed progress made in completing the remaining blocksof the project, as well as the challenges still hindering the pace of work. They stressed the importance of intensifying efforts to ensure the completion of reconstruction in a way that allows for the full return of residents and restores the camp’s economic and social life in an integrated manner.
