Meeting Between the Chairman and the UNRWA Director with the Minister of Finance: Discussing Financial and Educational Challenges

The Chairman of the Lebanese-Palestinian Dialogue Committee, Ambassador Ramez Dimechkie, and the Director of UNRWA Affairs in Lebanon, Dr. Dorothy Klaus, with the Lebanese Minister of Finance, Mr. Yassin Jaber, to brief him on UNRWA’s financial situation and discuss the ongoing challenges faced by Palestinian refugees in Lebanon.

The meeting also addressed the educational file of Palestinian refugees, particularly UNRWA’s educational centers in the Tyre region. Dr. Klaus proposed funding the construction of a new school in coordination with the President of the Tyre Municipalities Union, Engineer Hassan Dabouq. The discussion focused on possible measures for the ministry and relevant departments to provide the necessary support to realize this project.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Ambassador Dimechkiethanked the minister for his cooperation and responsiveness, while Minister Jaber emphasized the importance of UNRWA continuing to provide essential services to Palestinian refugees, especially amid the difficult economic conditions facing Lebanon.
