PM Mikati received a delegation from the Lebanese Palestinian Dialogue Committee led by the Committee’s Chairman, Dr. Bassel Al Hassan

Prime Minister Najib Mikati received a delegation from the Lebanese Palestinian Dialogue Committee, led by Chairman Dr. Bassel Al Hassan, who announced after the meeting: “We came as a working team from the Lebanese Palestinian Dialogue Committee and met with His Excellency Prime Minister Mikati. We briefed him on two points, the first concerns preparing the LPDC strategy to be put on the table and adopted by the Council of Ministers. The strategy incorporates long-term strategic policies that would secure the rights and duties of Palestinian refugees toward the Lebanese state. Since this is a thorny and sensitive issue, our policy is specific in nature, guaranteeing the sovereignty of the Lebanese state, while ensuring that Palestinians can contribute to Lebanon and its national economy. With regard to the second point, we informed Prime Minister Mikati of the upcoming meetings as part of the Advisory Commission on UNRWA, which will be held for the second time in Beirut and will include high level donors and host countries. The meetings are set to discuss the status, funding, policies and issues related to UNRWA regarding the situation of Palestinian refugees at the regional level.” Dr. Al Hassan also added: “We informed Prime Minister Mikati of the details, nature, and agenda of these meetings, which will be held on the 20th and 21st of this month in Beirut.”
